A baby shower is a traditional way of celebrating the coming (or the birth) of a new baby and welcoming him or her as a new member of the family. This important event can be hosted by mother and father-to-bes as well as relatives, friends and etc.
However, in the past, it was once considered improper for family members to host baby showers (because they usually center on the gift giving), but nowadays it is fine for family members to help (and plan) them.
Baby showers are generally held before mother’s expected birth, however, it can also be held after mom has given birth. They are intended not only to welcome the baby but also to help the expectant parents by giving them gifts that they will need for the baby.
So, as you can understand from the title ‘Baby shower party’, parties are mostly held with some food. Baby shower foods are also required for this special day. We will see some baby shower foods now. Let’s see what they are! Bread or sandwiches would be good as you could make plenty of them in short time. As desserts, cakes, cookies, ice cream and etc would fulfill your guests’ eagerness for eating.
What about drinks? If you are holding a baby shower with alcoholic drinks, you could serve wine and some other ‘dining table’ drinks. However, if you are planning to hold a baby shower without any alcohol, then, juices, coke and some other homemade drinks would sound appealing.
Whatever you decide, do not forget to unwind and enjoy yourself at the shower. Bear in mind all the guests are there to pass time with and display support to the soon to be mom (and dad). The food is just icing on the cake. Enjoy your baby shower party!
